Episode VII – Returning

 

In the Sans-Souci forest on Réunion Island, the vegetation intertwines, dense and almost enveloping.

The ferns slowly unfold.
The trunks remain motionless.
And the light moves through the foliage like a quiet breath.

Here, everything invites you to slow down.

Nothing is forced.
Nothing is rushed.

And within this deep stillness,
something gently begins to find its place again.

Life in Québec moves quickly.
It carries away the rhythm, the familiar landmarks,
sometimes even part of what keeps us connected to what truly matters.

So returning here becomes necessary.

Not to escape,
but to regain balance.
To reconnect with what remains despite distance and time.

Between the leaves, the roots, and the familiar humidity,
I rediscover what grounds me.

And I’m reminded that no matter where life leads us,
sometimes we must return to our roots
in order to keep moving forward.
