Northern lights

Northern lights have fascinated me for as long as I can remember.

 

No matter how many times they appear, the same silence always returns.
The same unreal feeling that the sky itself is breathing above the world.

 

You often wait for hours in the cold and darkness, never truly knowing whether anything will happen at all.

 

And then, suddenly, the night changes.

A faint glow appears.
Almost imperceptible at first.

 

Then the shapes begin to move slowly across the sky, like living veils carried by wind and light.

 

The green deepens.
Hints of violet gradually emerge between the stars.

 

And for a few moments, everything else disappears.

Only the sky remains.
The silence.
And that strange feeling of becoming infinitely small before something far greater than yourself.

 

Even now, this spectacle continues to leave me in awe.

Not because of its power,
but because of its ability to quiet the world completely.
