Episode II – Where the Path Breathes
Here, the forest feels different.
In Jacques-Cartier National Park, it opens itself more freely.
The eye can wander farther.
The path reveals itself clearly beneath each step.
And the light falls with an almost familiar softness.
At first glance, it seems nothing like the dense forests of Réunion Island.
And yet…
the same feeling remains.
That quiet calm settling in unexpectedly.
That sensation of everything slowing down.
Of what truly matters gently finding its place again.
As though, from one territory to another, the forest speaks the same language.
No matter its form.
Here, the trees do not struggle to break through.
They simply allow the light to pass.
And perhaps, standing among them, we learn to do the same.
To let go.
To move forward without force.
To breathe.
Parallel Forests was born from these silent echoes between two worlds.
Two territories.
Two forms of belonging.
And between them, the same enduring feeling.
Part of the Parallel Forests series, this work emerges from an artistic journey shaped between two territories, two climates, and two distinct ways of inhabiting the world. Réunion Island and Quebec. Landscapes seemingly worlds apart, yet which, over time, began to resonate with one another on a deeper, more intimate level.
