Before the City Stirs
There are mornings when a city seems to return to something older.
Before the cars.
Before the voices.
Before the storefronts light up and the world begins to accelerate again. For a few brief moments, silence takes back its place completely.
The streets remain empty.
The streetlights still resist the fading night.
Light slowly moves across the damp stone of Old Québec. And in the distance, Château Frontenac appears almost like a memory.
Not a monument.
A presence.Something motionless, shaped by cold, light, and time.
Then the day returns.
And movement with it.But before that, the city still belongs to calm.
To that fragile breath suspended between the disappearing night and the beginning of morning.
This photographic artwork explores the meeting point between winter light, urban silence, and the memory of Old Québec.
Through deserted streets, the cold reflections of dawn, and the timeless presence of Château Frontenac, the image seeks less to represent the city than to preserve that rare sensation of a landscape still suspended before the return of the world.
