A dense forest, rocks shaped by water, and a waterfall flowing into a natural pool before continuing its journey through the landscape.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eQuébec is not Réunion. The vegetation is different, the colors are different, and so is the light. And yet, something about this scene immediately reminded me of the natural pools and waterfalls I love to photograph on my island.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThat way water creates a landscape of its own. Carving through rock, gathering in a pool, then flowing onward, slowly making its way through the valley.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eSeen from above, the relationship between water and forest becomes especially striking. The waterfall is no longer simply a feature within the landscape. It becomes a lifeline running through the forest, connecting one pool to the next and giving the entire scene a sense of movement.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eI love the way water can be both so present and so discreet. You hear it before you see it. You sense its passage in the damp rocks, the moss, and the trees lining its course. Then, suddenly, it appears: a waterfall, a pool, another cascade, and your eyes are naturally drawn toward what comes next.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThat is the feeling I wanted to preserve in this photograph. Not simply the image of a waterfall surrounded by forest, but the feeling of a living landscape, patiently shaped by water.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eAfter returning from Réunion, I expected to find landscapes that felt very different. And yet, in a forest in Saint-Georges, I found something I already knew: that particular feeling natural pools can evoke, that instinct to pause for a moment, listen to the water, and watch the way it gradually shapes everything around it.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003ePerhaps landscapes do not have to look alike to make us feel the same thing.
