A constant rumble, mixed with the quiet rush of the river and the rustling of the surrounding vegetation.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThen there is the damp air, the fine mist settling on your face, and the coolness of the spray against the warmth of the highlands above Saint-Joseph.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eStanding there, the mountain almost disappears behind the water.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eWaterfalls cascade down the rock face, some delicate and threadlike, others more powerful, all flowing toward the Langevin River in a constant, restless movement.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eYou feel small in front of all that rock, water, and vegetation.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThat was probably what struck me most.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eBut when I sent my drone higher, I discovered another dimension of Grand Galet.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eFrom above, the view finally pulls away from the waterfall itself and reveals the landscape as a whole. The countless cascades appear like branches of the same river, the Langevin River winds through the vegetation, and the surrounding mountains take on an almost dizzying scale.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eWhat you feel standing at the foot of the waterfall suddenly becomes visible in its entirety.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe power.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe abundance.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe sense that water has shaped this entire valley.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eWe were there during a period of drought, when the flow was considerably lower than it can be after heavy rainfall. Even so, Grand Galet already had an incredible presence.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eI found myself imagining what this landscape must look like when the rains swell the river and every waterfall comes alive with its full force.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThat is the feeling I wanted to preserve in this photograph.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eNot simply the image of a waterfall, but the memory of standing before something so much larger than yourself.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eA landscape you hear before you even look at it.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eA landscape you can feel on your skin.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eAnd one that, for a few moments, makes you stop and simply take it all in.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThis fine art photograph seeks to capture the experience of Grand Galet as much as its beauty.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eSeen from above, the waterfall reveals a dimension that is difficult to perceive from the ground.
